Chris West

Managing Member

Chris founded West Construction in 2009, combining skills he gained from running his own rehab, hardwood floor restoration and landscaping companies. His commercial experience includes projects in food service, retail, manufacturing, and office space. 

Chris lives in Victor with his wife and has two sons. He has three dogs and a cat. Chris enjoys going to live music festivals and traveling. 

Bryan Schaertl

Senior Project Manager

Bryan joined West Construction directly out of college in 2016. He attended RIT and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. While at RIT, he completed co-ops involving new commercial construction, storm water management, and underground utility restoration. When he joined West, he spent the first two years as an Estimator and transitioned into project manager in 2018 and has been involved in the majority of our projects ever since. 

Bryan is originally from Shortsville, NY and moved to Rochester towards the end of his college career. He currently lives off Park Ave with his girlfriend and two dogs. He enjoys watching sports and is a big fan of the Chicago Bulls and Indianapolis Colts. He also spends a lot of his free time with family and travels as much as he can. 

Mark Marino

Project Manager

Mark started at West Construction in September of 2022. He attended University of Buffalo and graduated with his Master of Arts in Math Education and Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. He has 8 years of experience working on home renovations and remodeling before joining West. 

Mark is a lifelong resident of Greece. In his free time, he enjoys being active and playing sports with friends. He also enjoys reading non-fiction and learning about new topics. 

Bruce Vandewinckel

Accountant

Bruce started at West Construction in 2021. He attended St. John Fisher College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance. While at St. John Fisher, he participated in the Investments club, which included pitching new public companies for the campus to invest in. 

Bruce was born in China and moved to Ontario, NY when he was 11. He currently resides in Ontario with his family. His interests include reading Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, CNBC and annual reports from public companies. He enjoys traveling, hiking and watching movies.
